Ad Spend Calculator
Answer a few questions about who you sell to, what a customer is worth, and where you are today. Get a starting monthly budget, the channels to fund first, what results to expect, and how to ramp over six months.
Quick answer
A sensible starting ad budget is the larger of two numbers: what your revenue can support, and what your main channel needs to collect enough conversions to learn. This calculator works out both from your deal size, conversion path, and stage, then splits the budget across channels. Every assumption is shown, and the output is a planning estimate, not a forecast.

Read the plan
You get a starting budget and range, unit economics, a channel split, a prospecting and retargeting mix, and a 6-month ramp.
FAQ
Questions people ask about Ad Spend Calculator
How much should a startup spend on ads per month?+
Enough for one channel to produce a readable number of conversions each month, and no more than your unit economics can pay back. For many early companies that lands in the low thousands of dollars a month on a single channel, not a small budget spread across several.
What is the minimum budget to start Google or Meta ads?+
The platforms accept a few dollars a day, but the practical minimum is set by learning. Meta’s guidance is about 50 optimization events per ad set per week, so multiply your expected cost per conversion by the volume the platform needs.
How should I split budget between channels?+
Start with one. Search captures people already looking, so it is usually first for B2B. Meta creates demand and is usually first for consumer products. Add a second channel only when its share of the budget is large enough to learn on its own.
How fast should I scale ad spend?+
Gradually. Raise budgets in steps of about 20% every few days on what is working, and add one new channel at a time so you can see its effect.
Are these recommendations based on real data?+
The model is a set of stated planning assumptions about margins, payback, and conversion rates, shown in the tool. Where a published benchmark is quoted, its source is linked. Replace the assumptions with your own numbers as soon as you have them.
