Full transcript.
If an adult suddenly collapses, check that the scene is safe. Tap their shoulder and shout. If they are unresponsive and not breathing normally, or only gasping, call nine one one and send someone for an AED. Follow the dispatcher's instructions. Kneel beside them. Place the heel of one hand in the center of the chest, the other hand on top, with straight arms and shoulders over your hands.
Push hard and fast, at least two inches deep, one hundred to one hundred twenty times a minute. Let the chest rise fully. When the AED arrives, turn it on. Expose and dry the chest, attach the pads as pictured, and follow its prompts. Everyone stands clear during analysis and any shock. Resume CPR immediately when instructed, and continue until trained help takes over or normal breathing returns.
