How much does video ad production cost for Facebook and Instagram ads?
As of October 2026, published prices run from about $1 per 15-second AI avatar render on a self-serve plan, to $99 and up per creator video, to about $375 to $440 per finished creator ad from managed services, to $8,000 to $10,000 for one studio commercial. Campaign management and media spend are extra.
Video ad production cost for Facebook and Instagram depends less on the length of the video than on who does the work: you with AI software, a creator you brief, a studio, a managed production service or a full-service Meta ads agency. Per piece, published prices checked on October 26, 2026 run from about $1 per AI avatar render to $8,000 to $10,000 for a single studio commercial, and each price buys a different unit. Compare them on cost per approved ad you can launch, count concepts and variants separately, and keep campaign management and media spend on their own lines.
Disclosure and method. Knowlify publishes this guide and sells one of the services compared: we make AI video ads for Facebook and Instagram, with or without campaign management. Every price and term below comes from each provider's own website, checked on October 26, 2026. This is a comparison of published scope and price, not a test of quality or campaign results. Prices change, so confirm them on the provider's page before you buy.
What are the five ways to get a video ad made?
The five models differ mainly in how much of the work stays with your team.
- Self-serve AI video tools. You pay for credits, then write, generate, edit and review the ads yourself.
- Creator platforms (and freelancers). You pay per video or project, write the brief and choose the person.
- Production studios. You pay per project for a crewed shoot and edit, usually one commercial at a time.
- Managed creative production services. You pay per batch or month for finished ads, and you or your media buyer run the campaigns.
- Full-service Meta ads agencies. You pay for creative plus campaign management in your ad account.
The first two are cheapest in cash and most expensive in team time. The last two cost more in cash and hand over more of the work.
What do self-serve AI video tools cost?
AI tools have the lowest cash price per render. As of October 2026, Creatify's pricing page lists a Standard plan at $15 a month (55 credits) and a Pro plan at $55 a month (280 credits), with lower prices shown for annual billing. It estimates that Pro credits produce about 56 avatar videos of 15 seconds a month at 720p. That is roughly $1 to $1.40 per 15-second avatar render at the monthly prices (our arithmetic). Creatify notes that higher resolutions, longer clips and premium models use more credits, and that credits expire after two months.
As of October 2026, HeyGen's pricing page lists a Creator plan at $29 a month with 600 credits and exports up to 1080p, and a Pro plan at $49 a month with 1,000 credits and exports up to 4K. The page lists credits and video length limits rather than a number of finished videos, so test how many credits your own format uses.
Some tools go further toward a full workflow. Superscale's cost page, checked October 26, 2026, describes flat plans of $99 to $399 a month covering competitor ad research, copy, static and UGC video production, publishing to Meta and iteration, with ad account integrations starting on its $199 Pro plan.
What the price leaves out. A render is not an approved ad. Someone still writes the script, picks usable takes, edits, captions, checks claims and uploads. Our comparison of AI UGC and creator UGC cost per ad shows how those steps change the per-ad number.
What do creator platforms and freelancers charge?
Creator platforms price per video. As of October 2026, Billo's pricing explainer says its videos start at $99 each. The same page says longer videos cost more, each brief includes one aspect ratio with extra ones charged on top, and hooks, unique videos and variations each add to the total. Full usage rights are included once you approve a video, two revisions within the brief are included, and your product and its shipping are not. Billo also lists a managed service from $2,000 a month for teams that want someone else to run the creator process.
Freelance editors and producers set their own hourly or project rates, so there is no standard published price to quote. Ask them to price the same brief as everyone else and to say whether scripting, music, source files and extra ratios are included.
What the price leaves out. Your team usually writes the brief, chooses the creator, ships the product, reviews footage and decides how raw clips become ads. Our guide to how much UGC costs breaks down rights, hooks and shipping in more detail.
What does a production studio charge for one commercial?
Studios sell a crewed production: a director, a shoot and an edit. As of October 2026, Start Motion Media's commercial cost page lists typical costs of $8,000 to $10,000 for its 4 to 6 week process and cites a wider US range of $6,000 to $25,000 per advertisement. It points to shooting days, actor fees, location costs and crew roles as factors in the budget.
A studio fits when you need one polished brand piece, real locations or real people on camera. It fits paid social testing less well, because testing needs several distinct concepts shaped for each placement. Meta recommends vertical 9:16 video for Reels on its Reels ads page and lists a 4:5 ratio for Facebook Feed video in its video ads guide (both checked October 26, 2026). If a studio quote covers one horizontal master, ask what the vertical and 4:5 versions cost.
What do managed production services charge per batch?
Managed services sell finished ads in batches or monthly plans, and the provider owns the scripts, production and edit. Published examples, all checked October 26, 2026:
- Creator UGC batches. Brighter Click's UGC agency page lists $4,500 for 12 edited videos from 4 creators and $6,500 for 18 videos from 6 creators, each video delivered in 9:16 and 4:5, with at least one revision round and usage rights in perpetuity. That is $375 per video on the smaller package (our arithmetic).
- Recurring creator rounds. Insense's managed UGC service lists sample pricing from $3,500 per round of 8 videos on a 3-month commitment, with creator costs, raw footage, two revisions after delivery and full digital usage rights included. That is about $438 per video (our arithmetic).
- AI video batches. Admiral Media's AI creative agency page lists batches from €10,000 for 20 video ads up to 15 seconds (€500 each) to €29,000 for 80 video ads up to 60 seconds (€363 each). It states that media budget and campaign management are separate.
- AI video plans. Airpost's pricing page lists one plan from $6,000 a month and describes 10 to 100+ video ads, so confirm the count your plan includes. Creatify, on the pricing page above, also describes a managed Studio service with 25 to 100+ videos a month and no published price.
- Broad creative subscriptions. Superside's pricing page lists a $15,000 monthly minimum on an annual term plus a separate $1,000 monthly software fee, with the budget covering design, video and photo work.
These prices are not like-for-like: edited creator videos, length-capped AI ads and a general design budget are different purchases.
What does a full-service Meta ads agency add?
A full-service agency adds campaign management: account structure, launches, budget changes, testing and reporting in your Meta ad account. As of October 2026, Adside's pricing page lists a managed service at 10% of ad spend with a $3,500 monthly minimum, and its FAQ says the one fee covers strategy, creative production, launch, optimization and reporting. The page does not state how many creatives that fee includes.
Many agencies price management without creative. Superscale's cost page, linked above, notes that video shoots, UGC creators and design retainers sit outside most management fees. So a management quote and a production quote often add together. Our guide to Facebook ad agency pricing covers percentage fees, minimums and setup charges in detail.
Media spend is always a separate line. On its ad pricing page, checked October 26, 2026, Meta says the advertiser sets a daily or lifetime budget. No production or management fee should be read as including your media budget unless the contract says so.
Should you hire a creative production service or a full-service Meta ads agency?
Hire a creative production service when someone on your team (or a freelance media buyer) already launches, tests and reports on Meta campaigns every week, and the gap is a steady supply of new ads. Hire a full-service Meta ads agency when no one owns the ad account day to day, or when you want one team accountable for both the ads and the campaign decisions.
| Your situation | Better fit |
|---|---|
| You have a media buyer, and creative volume is the bottleneck | Creative production service |
| No one manages the Meta ad account week to week | Full-service Meta ads agency |
| You want one team answerable for creative and campaign results | Full-service Meta ads agency |
| You need one polished brand film for several channels | Production studio |
| You have an editor with spare time and want the lowest cash cost | Self-serve AI tools or a creator platform |
A production service costs less in fees but needs a capable buyer on your side, whose time is a real cost. A full-service agency costs more but removes that role. If you already pay a media buyer, an agency managing the same account means paying twice. Our comparison of a Facebook ads consultant and a creative agency covers how to split the two roles when you use both.
How do the five models compare on video ad production cost?
This summary uses the published figures above, checked October 26, 2026. None of them include media spend.
| Model | Example published price | Unit the price buys | Work that stays with you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Self-serve AI tools | $15 to $55 a month (Creatify); $29 to $49 a month (HeyGen) | Credits and renders | Script, takes, edit, review, launch, management |
| Creator platforms | From $99 per video (Billo) | One creator video from your brief | Brief, creator choice, shipping, edit, launch, management |
| Production studios | Typically $8,000 to $10,000 (Start Motion Media) | One commercial project | Placement versions if not quoted, launch, management |
| Managed production services | $4,500 for 12 videos (Brighter Click); €10,000 for 20 AI video ads (Admiral Media) | A batch of finished ads | Approvals, launch, management |
| Full-service Meta agencies | 10% of spend, $3,500 monthly minimum (Adside) | Creative plus campaign management | Approvals, budget, product facts |
How do you work out cost per approved ad?
Use one formula for every quote:
Cost per approved ad = (fees + software + rights + shipping + revisions + your team's time) ÷ ads you approve and launch
Three counting rules keep the comparison honest.
Count concepts separately from variants. Meta's guide to creative diversification, checked October 26, 2026, says its ads system groups together ads that share key visual and thematic attributes, and recommends ads that are truly different in look, feel, storyline and message rather than minor edits of one ad. Twelve hook swaps on one script are closer to one concept than to twelve. Ask every provider how many original concepts are in a batch, and price per concept as well as per ad.
Count placement versions as versions, not new ads. A 9:16 cut for Reels and a 4:5 cut for Feed are the same ad in two shapes, and some providers charge for each extra ratio. Meta's Advantage+ creative uses AI to generate and enhance ad variations across image, video and carousel formats, but Meta says some enhancements may be on by default and recommends reviewing previews before launch (checked October 26, 2026). Treat automated versions as a help, not a substitute for a native vertical edit.
Count only ads you would actually launch. Take a hypothetical batch priced at $4,500 for 12 videos. If all 12 pass your review, that is $375 per approved ad. If 9 pass, it is $500. If the 12 are three scripts with four hooks each, you bought three concepts at $1,500 each. Our worksheet for DIY AI video ads versus a done-for-you service shows how to add your own team's hours to the same calculation.
Which costs are easy to miss in a production quote?
- Product and shipping for creator videos, which Billo states are not in its video price.
- Extra aspect ratios, hooks and variations, often priced per item.
- Rush delivery, which Brighter Click offers for an unpublished additional fee.
- Commitments, software fees and expiring credits, such as Insense's 3-month term, Superside's $1,000 monthly software fee and Creatify's two-month credit window.
- Revision limits, and what counts as a revision versus a new video.
Ask each provider to quote the same brief: concepts, variants per concept, aspect ratios, length, revision rounds, rights and who launches the ads.
How can Knowlify help?
Knowlify (YC S25) is a done-for-you AI ads agency for Facebook and Instagram. We make AI UGC, 3D character animation and AI commercial video ads, about 25 finished ads a week (about 100 a month, delivered in weekly batches). Our team writes the scripts, and a person checks every ad before delivery. You can choose end-to-end Meta ads, with creative and campaign management in your own Meta ad account, or creative-only if you already have a media buyer. You keep the ads.
Our video ad production service is priced as a custom quote on a 30-minute call. The first batch arrives five days after kickoff, and there is a 90-day guarantee (terms on knowlify.com). Our UGC-style ads use AI presenters, not real human creators. You can see public ads we made for Parva and Casco in our Facebook and Instagram video ad examples.
Where Knowlify is not the right fit. Choose a creator platform, creator agency or studio if you need real customers or creators on camera, ads that run from a creator's own handle, organic creator posts, or a live-action shoot at a real location. If you need one or two videos rather than a weekly flow, a single studio project or a creator platform order will usually suit better. If you want a published price before any call, the self-serve tools and packages above publish theirs and we do not.
Key takeaways
- Per piece, published prices (October 2026) range from about $1 per AI render to $8,000 to $10,000 for one studio commercial, and they buy very different units.
- Compare quotes on cost per approved ad you will launch, and count original concepts separately from hook swaps and aspect-ratio versions.
- Choose a production service if you already have a media buyer, and a full-service Meta agency if no one owns the ad account.
- Keep production fees, management fees and media spend on three separate lines.
FAQ
Is AI video ad production cheaper than hiring creators?
Per render, yes, by a wide margin. Per approved ad, the gap narrows because AI output still needs scripting, editing and review. An AI presenter also cannot stand in for a real customer, so use creators for testimonials.
Does a full-service Meta ads agency include video production?
Some do. As of October 2026, Adside's pricing page says its managed service fee covers strategy, creative production, launch, optimization and reporting. Others price creative separately, so ask how many new ads a month the fee includes.
Is media spend included in a production quote?
No. Production fees pay for the ads, and media spend is the budget you set in Meta Ads Manager. As of October 2026, Admiral Media, for example, states that media budget and campaign management are separate from its production batches.
How much does Knowlify cost?
Knowlify prices each engagement as a custom quote on a 30-minute call, for creative-only work or end-to-end Meta ads. The first batch arrives five days after kickoff.
