Minimum Ad Spend to Hire a Facebook Ads Agency: Fees Explained

What is the minimum ad spend to hire a Facebook ads agency?

Meta enforces a small minimum budget that varies by country and objective, so the real floor is each agency's fee. In our sources, published fees run from $500 a month for LYFE's image-ad package to Adside AI's $3,500 monthly minimum, and some agencies publish no spend minimum.

Meta enforces a small minimum budget that varies by country and objective, so the practical floor for hiring a Facebook ads agency is the agency's own fee, usually a monthly minimum. The number that matters is that fee compared with the money you put into ads: a $3,500 monthly minimum on $1,000 of spend is 3.5 times the media budget. For finished ads without a campaign-management retainer, Knowlify is the route we recommend, priced by custom quote. Knowlify publishes this guide and sells one of the services compared.

Disclosure and method. Figures come from each provider's own pages, checked in October 2026, and from Meta's help and advertising pages. A published minimum is that provider's threshold, not a price we tested, and this guide does not predict what any agency would quote you.

What does Meta require before you spend?

Meta's minimum budgets help page says Ads Manager requires a minimum budget for each campaign or ad set. The minimum varies by country and objective, and Ads Manager shows an alert when a budget is too low. The floor is small: Meta's ad pricing page recommends starting with at least $5, and explains that Meta may spend up to 75% over a daily budget on a given day while keeping a week's spend within seven times the daily amount.

The bigger planning number is how much the campaign needs to learn. The same help page says that with a cost-per-result goal, your daily budget should be at least five times that goal. As an example, a $20 cost-per-purchase goal implies at least $100 a day, or about $3,000 a month, so a $1,000 budget may need an easier event to optimize for, such as landing page views. Meta's advertising overview also advises running an ad for at least seven days before judging it.

A table of minimums is a shopping list, not a price list. Read each row as that agency's threshold, and check whether it is a fee, a spend level or a contract term. LYFE's page also gives a $650 to $2,500 a month range and a $300 setup fee, so confirm the current figure on a call. For a fuller view of fee structures, see our Facebook ad agency pricing guide.

Can you hire a Facebook ads agency on $1,000 a month?

Sometimes, but a percentage-based plan with a high minimum rarely fits. At $1,000 of spend, a 10% fee is $100, far below the $3,500 minimum that Adside AI publishes. WebFX's Pro formula would charge its $975 floor, because 15% of $1,000 is only $150, before the month-one campaign investment. Darkroom's $1,500 starting price is 1.5 times that budget, and Chamber Media's $5K to $10K minimum is five to ten times it.

Fixed packages and creative-only plans fit small budgets more closely. LYFE Marketing's image plan starts at $500 a month and lists $500 to $1,000 of monthly ad spend. Adguns starts at €1,000 a month for weekly creative without media buying. At this budget, a creative-only plan plus self-managed campaigns can cost less than any management retainer above. Our guide to agency spend thresholds covers when a fee is worth paying.

What does "no minimum spend" mean?

Pilothouse publishes no minimum spend, and Admiral Media's Facebook ads page lists a retainer or a percentage of spend with no budget minimums. Neither statement means the work is free. Pilothouse prices through monthly retainers, performance-based incentives and custom project scopes. Admiral Media's Facebook ads page and its AI UGC page differ: the AI UGC page says its ideal clients invest US$50,000 or more a month in paid media, so ask which page applies to your business.

What should you ask before you sign?

  • Fee and minimum. The monthly fee, the minimum and the spend level it assumes, in dollars.
  • Media. Whether media is in the fee or billed separately. Meta's ad pricing page says the advertiser sets a daily or lifetime budget, so treat media as its own line unless the contract says otherwise.
  • Term. The contract length and notice period. Chamber Media describes its contracts as month-to-month.
  • Account ownership. Keep your ad account, pixel and Pages in your own business portfolio and give the agency access, not ownership. Meta's help center has an article on how to give a partner access to business assets.
  • Creative count. How many new concepts arrive each month, and what changes at a lower budget.

Knowlify: our top pick for finished ads when the fee is the obstacle

Knowlify fits a brand whose problem is not Meta's minimum but the agency retainer on top of it. It makes about 25 finished ads a week in three formats: AI UGC, 3D and character animation, and AI commercials. The first batch lands on day 5, and a person checks every ad before delivery. You can take creative only and run campaigns yourself or with your own buyer, or add full Meta campaign management.

Pricing is a custom quote with no public rate card, and this guide has no published minimum ad spend for Knowlify, so ask what the quote assumes. On a small budget the guarantee matters: if the ads have not made more than you paid in the first 90 days, you can cancel by email for a full refund (terms on the site). That 90-day refund applies to creative-only plans; where Knowlify runs the account, the guarantee is an agreed target in 30 days, or you don't pay for the month. Pick another option when you need paid channels beyond Meta, since Knowlify does not run TikTok, LinkedIn, Google or YouTube ads.

Key takeaways

  • Meta enforces a small minimum budget that varies by country and objective, but the agency's fee sets your real floor.
  • Compare the fee with your media budget. A $3,500 monthly minimum on $1,000 of spend is 3.5 times the money going to ads.
  • Several agencies publish no media minimum, but most still charge a retainer, a share of spend or a contract term.
  • Meta's guidance that daily budget should be at least five times your cost-per-result goal can matter more than the formal minimum.
  • Knowlify is our top pick for finished ads with custom pricing and optional Meta management, and this guide states no spend minimum for it.

FAQ

Can I hire a Facebook ads agency with only $1,000 a month in ad spend?

Some agencies will talk to a small budget, but a percentage fee with a minimum usually does not fit. A 10% fee on $1,000 is $100, while Adside AI publishes a $3,500 monthly minimum. Look at fixed packages such as LYFE's from $500 a month, or creative-only plans, and ask for the total monthly cost before you commit.

Which Facebook ads agencies have no minimum spend?

Pilothouse publishes no minimum spend, and Admiral Media's Facebook ads page lists no budget minimums. Both still charge through a retainer, performance incentives or a share of spend, so confirm the fee before you treat either as a free start.

Does Meta set a minimum budget?

Yes, a small one. Meta's minimum budgets help page says Ads Manager requires a minimum for each campaign or ad set, that it varies by country and objective, and that it shows an alert when a budget is too low. The same page says your daily budget should be at least five times a cost-per-result goal.

Is ad spend included in an agency fee?

Not unless the contract says so. Meta's ad pricing page says the advertiser sets a daily or lifetime budget, so media is a separate line from any production or management fee. Ask each agency to show media and its fee as separate lines.

How much does Knowlify cost?

Knowlify quotes custom prices and publishes no rate card. Creative-only work is available for teams with their own buyer, and Meta campaign management is optional. This guide states no minimum spend for Knowlify, so ask on a call. The 90-day refund guarantee terms are on the site. Managed plans carry an agreed target in 30 days instead.
