How many new video ads should I test on Meta each week?
Meta publishes no weekly number. Its ads system groups look-alike ads as one creative, so under Andromeda, count distinct concepts, not files. Launch as many new concepts as your testing budget can judge: weekly test budget divided by (target cost per result times results needed per concept). At $3,000, $50 and 10 results, that is six.
Meta Andromeda is the retrieval system that picks a few thousand candidate ads for each person out of tens of millions, and Meta says its ads system groups look-alike ads together as one creative. So the weekly number that matters is distinct concepts, not files. Meta does not publish a quota: launch as many genuinely different concepts each week as your testing budget can fund to a readable result, which the formula below turns into a number (six a week at a $3,000 testing budget, a $50 target cost per result and 10 results per concept). Give each concept two or three hook or edit variations, and count those as iterations, not new ads.
What is Meta Andromeda, and why does it change creative?
Meta's engineering team described Andromeda on December 2, 2024 as its machine learning system for retrieval in ad recommendation. Retrieval is the first stage of ad delivery. Meta says it selects "from tens of millions of ad candidates into a few thousand relevant ad candidates," and that it processes three orders of magnitude more ads than the stages after it. Larger ranking models then predict which of those candidates to show.
Three details from that post matter for advertisers:
- It was built for more creative. Meta wrote that the number of ad creatives in its recommendation systems "is expected to grow significantly," and gave Andromeda a hierarchical index to scale up to a large volume of ad creatives.
- Meta ties that growth to generative AI. The same post says more than a million advertisers used Meta's generative AI tools to create more than 15 million ads in a month.
- Meta reports a quality gain. It cites a 6% recall improvement in retrieval and an 8% ads quality improvement on selected segments, running on NVIDIA Grace Hopper hardware.
Meta's March 27, 2025 post on ads ranking adds that Andromeda was introduced in 2024, enabled a 10,000x increase in the complexity of the models used for ads retrieval, and helps Meta pick the right creative as businesses upload more creatives to support a diversification strategy. The same post describes Meta Lattice as its ad ranking architecture and GEM as a generative ads recommendation model, and credits GEM with increasing ad conversions by up to 5% during its initial launch on Meta Reels. These are Meta's own figures, not independent measurements.
| Stage | What Meta says happens | Our reading for advertisers |
|---|---|---|
| Retrieval (Andromeda) | Tens of millions of eligible ads are narrowed to a few thousand candidates for each person | An ad that looks like the rest of your account adds little to that pool |
| Ranking (for example, Meta Lattice) | Larger ranking models predict people and advertiser value to choose the ads shown | Distinct concepts give ranking real options for different people |
| Grouping | Ads that share key visual and thematic attributes are treated as variations of one creative | Ten near-copies of one video may count as one creative |
Does Meta count similar ads as one creative?
Yes, according to Meta. Its December 16, 2025 post on creative diversification says the ads system "analyzes creatives and groups together ads that share key visual and thematic attributes," and that learnings and delivery optimizations for those ads are shared at the creative level. The post separates two ideas: "Creative diversification and creative iteration are two separate concepts." Its example of iteration is two ads with identical visuals but different text calls to action.
Meta's April 22, 2025 post on diversification with Andromeda defines creative diversification as creating a wide range of ad creatives with different themes, messages and visuals to cater to diverse audience segments. It also says the focus has shifted from niche targeting, which relied on demographics, interests and behaviors, to creative diversification as the best lever to find the most relevant audiences.
Meta does not publish a similarity threshold, so treat the table below as a working reading of that guidance, not a Meta rule.
| Change you make | Likely treatment (our reading) | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| New persona, problem and storyline | New creative | Diversification: reaching people the account is not reaching yet |
| New format, such as AI UGC versus 3D character animation versus a product commercial | New creative | Diversification across styles and placements |
| Same video with new on-screen text or a new CTA | Variation of one creative | Iteration on a proven concept |
| Same presenter, scene and script with a new first three seconds | Probably a variation | Hook testing inside a concept |
| Resized or expanded version of the same video for Reels or Stories | Same creative | Placement coverage |
Iteration still has a job. Meta's December post says iteration can inform new ad concepts for a diversification strategy, but it should not replace diversification. Our video ad hooks framework covers how to write hook variations once a concept has earned them.
How many new ads per week can your budget support?
Meta does not give a weekly number. The December 2025 post suggests building a broad portfolio of assets instead of producing a fixed volume of ad creatives per campaign, and the April 2025 post gives no recommended count of ads or ad set structure. So the number has to come from your budget and your cost per result.
Use this planning formula. It is ours, not Meta's:
New concepts per week = weekly testing budget ÷ (target cost per result × results you want before judging a concept)
"Weekly testing budget" is the part of spend you set aside for new concepts, separate from the spend on proven ads. "Results before judging" is your call. The examples below use 10 results as a first read on whether a concept deserves more spend. That is an assumption to adjust, not a Meta threshold: raise it if your results swing a lot from week to week.
| Weekly testing budget | Target cost per result | Results before judging | Spend per concept | New concepts per week |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $1,000 | $40 | 10 | $400 | 2 |
| $3,000 | $50 | 10 | $500 | 6 |
| $10,000 | $60 | 10 | $600 | 16 |
The figures are illustrative and rounded down. Add two or three variations to each concept and the $3,000 example becomes 12 to 18 files a week, but still six new creatives as Meta's grouping is likely to see them. The variations share their concept's budget rather than adding to it.
Three checks keep the number honest:
- Most new ads get almost no spend. Either the batch is larger than the testing budget can fund, or the concepts are too alike to be told apart. Cut the count or widen the differences before you add more files.
- A proven concept starts to slip at steady spend. That is a refresh problem, not a volume problem. Meta's December 2025 post says it is testing expanded creative insights in Ads Manager that flag when ad sets and formats are becoming fatigued and recommend adding new assets or diversifying text. Our creative fatigue guide covers the diagnosis.
- The budget funds one concept or fewer a week. Make that one concept clearly different from what is already running, and lean on variations of proven ads for the rest.
This guide covers how many concepts to feed in. For how to design and read each test, see our ad creative testing framework.
How do you build a weekly batch Andromeda can use?
Meta's own examples of diversification show the pattern. The December 2025 post contrasts a Reels ad tailored for Gen Z with "a separate partnership ad featuring a creator who connects with new moms," and suggests splitting messages between emotional appeal and product features. The ad changes who it is for, what it says and how it looks, all at once.
A weekly batch for a video-first account can follow the same logic:
- Pick two or three personas the account is not reaching well, and write down the problem each one has.
- Give each persona its own angle and proof. A cost angle, a time angle and a quality angle are different concepts. Three wordings of the cost angle are one concept.
- Rotate formats across the batch. A talking-to-camera UGC-style ad, a 3D character animation and a product commercial look different enough to stand apart.
- Write two or three hooks per concept as iterations, so a promising concept can be refined without starting over.
- Name every file with a concept ID so results roll up by concept, which is also how Meta's grouping reads them.
Meta's own tools fit inside this plan rather than replacing it. Meta's Advantage+ creative page says, as of October 2026, that the product "uses AI to generate and enhance ad variations across single image, video and carousel formats," with features including video expansion, image generation and text generation. It reports a 2% lift in conversions for Facebook Reels when using video expansion. The April 2025 post reports an 11% higher click-through rate and a 7.6% higher conversion rate for campaigns using image generation in Advantage+ creative, compared with campaigns not using those features. Because these tools generate and enhance variations of ads you supply, our reading is that they are strongest for placement coverage and iteration, while new concepts still have to come from your brief. For finished formats, see our Facebook and Instagram video ad examples.
How do agencies make video ads at scale for paid social?
Agencies that deliver many ads a week tend to separate thinking from production, so volume does not dilute the ideas. The common mechanisms:
- A concept library built from customer research. Personas, problems, objections and proof points are listed once, and each weekly batch draws new combinations from it.
- Modular scripts. Hook, problem, proof and call to action are written as parts, so a hook test does not require a new script.
- A production method matched to the concept. Real creators bring genuine product experience but add shipping, scheduling and usage rights. AI presenters and AI video remove shipping and casting, but an AI presenter is not a customer and should never deliver a personal testimonial. Animation suits products that are hard to film.
- A review step before delivery. Someone checks claims, brand rules, captions and placement crops before any file reaches the ad account.
- Concept-level reporting. Results are read by concept ID and fed into the next week's brief.

Which agencies provide ongoing creative testing for Meta?
Disclosure and method. Knowlify publishes this guide and sells one of the services compared. Facts about each provider come from its own website, checked on October 26, 2026. This is a comparison of published scope, not a test of results, so confirm current terms with each provider before you buy.
| Provider | What it publishes (checked October 26, 2026) | Runs your Meta ads? | Published price or threshold | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adquadrant | A weekly cadence of new concepts and GenAI-assisted variations, tested head to head against proven work; based in Irvine, California | Yes | Price not published; built for brands doing $10M+ in revenue | Larger DTC and retail brands that want weekly testing and management in one place |
| MetaAdsAgency | Testing as an ongoing pipeline, with 12, 30 or 60 new ad creatives a month by plan; says it is independent of Meta | Yes, in your own ad account | Plans from $2,400 a month, billed yearly | Teams that want a fixed monthly creative count with management |
| Flighted | New York paid media agency offering Meta ads management, creative strategy and production, and structured creative testing | Yes | Fees not published; typical client ad spend listed as $25,000 or more a month, and it says it works best with companies spending $50,000+ a month on Meta | Brands already spending heavily on Meta |
| 225 Media | Creative strategy and testing for ecommerce brands on Meta, producing AI, UGC, video or static ads with test plans | No: its page says "We don't run ads" | Not published | Ecommerce teams with their own media buyer |
| Brill Media | A creative testing framework that starts with 5 ads split into 15 assets and repeats every 3 to 4 weeks; based in Encino, California | Lists media buying services and a dedicated account team | Not published | Advertisers who want a structured testing cycle alongside media buying |
| Knowlify | About 25 finished ads a week across AI UGC, 3D character animation and AI commercial video ads | Optional: end-to-end or creative-only | Custom quote on a 30-minute call | Meta accounts that need a high weekly volume of video ads without real creators |
Volumes in this table are not like for like. A "new ad creative" at one provider may be a new concept, and at another a variation. Ask each one how many distinct concepts are in a month and how many are hook or edit variations, using the grouping table above. Our list of the best Meta ads agencies covers broader management options.
Where Knowlify is not the right fit. Knowlify's UGC-style ads use AI presenters, not real human creators. If you need real customers or creators on camera, partnership ads that run from a creator's handle, or a published fixed price before a call, one of the other providers is a better match.
How Knowlify can help
Knowlify (YC S25) is a done-for-you AI ads agency for Facebook and Instagram. Our creative-as-a-service delivers about 25 finished ads a week, about 100 a month in weekly batches, across AI UGC, 3D character animation and AI commercial video ads. Our team writes the scripts, and a person checks every ad before delivery. You can choose end-to-end Meta ads, with creative plus campaign management in your own Meta ad account, or creative-only if you already have a media buyer. You keep the ads.
The first batch arrives five days after kickoff. Pricing is a custom quote on a 30-minute call, and there is a 90-day guarantee (terms on knowlify.com). Public examples from Parva and Casco are in the video ad examples article linked above.
Key takeaways
- Meta Andromeda is Meta's ad retrieval system, and Meta says its ads system groups ads that share key visual and thematic attributes as one creative.
- Count distinct concepts per week, not files. Hook and text variations are iterations of a concept.
- Meta publishes no weekly quota. Divide your weekly testing budget by target cost per result times the results you need before judging a concept.
- Build each batch by changing persona, message and format together, and use Advantage+ creative for placement coverage and iteration.
- When comparing agencies, ask how many distinct concepts a month they deliver, not only how many files.
FAQ
Is Meta Andromeda a setting I can turn on?
No. Meta describes Andromeda as its ad retrieval system, introduced in 2024 and deployed across Facebook and Instagram. There is nothing to switch on. What you control is the range of creative it can choose from.
Does Andromeda mean I should put dozens of ads in one ad set?
The Meta posts cited here do not give a number of ads per ad set. The December 2025 post says Meta's system can handle the expanded creative volume that comes with automated solutions such as Advantage+ campaigns, but adding near-copies does not add distinct creatives, because Meta groups look-alike ads together.
Are hook tests still worth running?
Yes, as iteration. Meta says iteration can inform new concepts. Run hook tests inside a concept that is already working, and keep a separate budget line for new concepts.
Can AI-generated ads count as creative diversification?
Yes, if the concepts are genuinely different. A new persona, message or format made with AI tools is a new concept. The same AI video with a new caption is a variation. An AI presenter should not claim personal experience with the product.
